Filing Room has a quarterly program of rodent suppression carried out by supervised outsourced professionals. In addition, semi-annually we carry out a facility wide insect ‘bomb’ exercise, deploying a residue-free smoke bomb which eliminates all insects.
Why wishful thinking isn’t enoughThe Filing Room has been in the same location for over 20 years and has never had a flood or experienced any form of water damage. But that does not make us feel safe enough to do nothing. First, we ensure our drains are inspected regularly to ensure drainage remains free-flowing. Next, we keep all records on racks so that they are out of the way of any water. Finally we keep ready our emergency ‘flood-defence-box’. The heart of this emergency kit is the powerful multifunctional pump and 100 meters of heavy duty water suction hose. Combined with a ready supply of filled sandbags, the pump will ensure our premises remain dry in the unprecedented event of a flood.
